AARP Driver’s Safety Program

Drivers 55 and older have an opportunity to save 10% on their auto insurance premiums. Those who have never attended a 55 Alive driving course must attend an 8 hour session held on two evenings- 4 hours each evening. The eight hour class need only to be taken once. Every three years, a 4-hour refresher course must be taken to continue insurance premium discounts. Cost for the class is $17 if you are an AARP member, or $22 if you are not an AARP member, payable to Community Education ($2 of each registration is retained by Community Ed. for administration purposes.

Co-sponsored by AARP, these classroom courses are designed to help drivers improve their skills and prevent traffic accidents. Presented by trained volunteer instructors, these courses are a combination of video presentations and group discussions with no tests.

Please bring a pen, drivers license and your AARP membership card. Limit of 25 per class. Minimum of 10. Pre-registration is required – no walk-ins allowed.
