City of Arlington

Increases local support for people with memory loss & strengthens the ability of communities, businesses, and families to support the estimated one in nine Arlington residents age 65 and over living with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia. That equates to 44 residents of the City of Arlington living with Alzheimer’s or dementia.
Arlington ACT on Alzheimer’s Background:
In 2016, the City of Arlington began implementing the ACT on Alzheimer’s® Community Education Tool Kit. (ACT on Alzheimer’s® is a statewide, volunteer-driven collaboration preparing Minnesota for the personal, social, and budgetary impacts of Alzheimer’s disease.)
The general aim is to develop dementia friendly, dementia capable communities.
This will not duplicate what others already do. ACT will fill gaps by: expanding supports, coordinating efforts with partners, developing new partners, and linking people to information and resources.
Arlington’s Grant Partners:

Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging; Alzheimer’s Association of MN & ND; ACT on Alzheimer’s®; Sibley County.
