Arlington Greys 13 – La Crescent Apple Jacks 2
Saturday 28 June 2008, Game 1
Arlington won the toss and elected to take the field first.
The Apple Jacks scored the first ace of the game in their half of the first inning. The Greys answered with five safe hits before a hand was dead and scored eight aces before three hands were dead in the first inning. The Greys added four more aces in the second, and their final score came in the fifth. The Apple Jacks scored their final ace in the third, making the final score Arlington Greys 13 – La Crescent Apple Jacks 2
Highlights: Jim Kreft hit safely three times and scored three aces in the match. Greg Splettstoeser hit two doubles and scored two aces; Pat Nienaber had three safe hits and also scored two aces.

Rochester Roosters 3 – Arlington Greys 1
Saturday 28 June 2008, Game 2
Again Arlington won the toss and elected to take the field first.
The Roosters played a fast snappy game and opened the scoring in the fourth inning with the first ace of the game. The Roosters added two more in the fifth on a wild throw by the Greys. The Greys tallied their lone ace in their half of the sixth. After one hand was dead, Dave Kreft hit safely. He was forced out at second on a hit by Greg Splettstoeser. Greg came home on a double by Jason Ruehling, making the final score Roosters 3 – Greys 1
Highlights: The Rooster midfielder raced behind the trees in the outfield to make a spectacular catch off a long drive by Jim Kreft and the throw to the infield resulted in a double play catching Mike Feterl off base.

Arlington Greys 6 – Northfield Silver Stars 2
Saturday 28 June 2008, Game 3
Arlington loss the toss and the Silver Stars elected to take the field first.
Arlington began the match and plated four aces in their half of the first inning. The Silver Stars answered with a pair of aces in their half of the second, making the score Greys 4, Silver Stars 2. The Greys scored two more aces in the fourth when Jason Ruehling and Jeff Menk raced across the plate on a hard hit by Steve Trocke, making the final score Greys 6 – Silver Stars 2.
Highlights: Greg Splettstoeser smashed a triple in the first inning driving home two runs. Greg scored the fourth ace on a hit by Jason Ruehling.

Arlington Greys 5 – Afton Red Socks 3
Sunday 29 June 2008, Game 1
The Red Socks won the toss and elected to take the field.
The Red Socks opened the scoring in their half of the second with one ace. Mark Lundstrom scored the first ace for the Greys when Tim Kloeckl hit a double in the third inning. The Greys took the lead with an ace in their half of the fourth, but the Red Socks scored two aces in their half of the inning to make the score 3 to 2 in favor of the Red Socks. Dave Kreft began the fifth inning with a triple and scored the Greys’ third ace on a safe hit by Greg Splettstoeser, making the score 3 to 3. The Greys plated two more aces on safe hits by Steve Pioske and Mark Lundstrom and errors by the Red Socks, making the final score Greys 5, Red Sox 3
Highlights: A snappy double play (6-4-3) by the Greys in the third inning ended the inning. The fast Mark Lundstrum scored two aces. |

Indianapolis Blues 8 – Arlington Greys 3
Sunday 29 June 2008, Game 2
The Blues won the toss and elected to strike first.
The fast Blues scored three aces in the first and another ace in the second to take a 4 to 0 lead. The Greys scored their first ace in the fourth to make the score 4 to 1. The Blues tallied three more aces in the fifth and one in the sixth to make their total eight. The Greys added one ace in the fifth and one in the seventh to make the final score, Blues 8, Greys 3.
Highlights: The Greys made their second double play of the day in the seventh inning depriving the Blues of an additional score. The fast Blues team made several spectacular catches to keep the Greys from scoring.

Quicksteps 10 – Arlington Greys 6
Sunday 29 June 2008, Game 3
The Quicksteps won the toss and elected to take the field first.
The Greys scored the first ace of the game in their half of the first inning. The Quicksteps answered with four runs, two coming on a home run, and others on errors. The Greys tied the match with three scores in their half of the second inning, but the Quicksteps answered with five aces in their half of the inning. The Greys scored two more on a home run by Jim Kreft in the third inning, and the Quicksteps answered with one ace in their half of the inning. Because the game was so slowly played, only three innings were made before the 50-minute rule ended the contest with the score Quicksteps 10, Greys 6
Highlights: Jim Kreft hit a two-run home run, the ball going into the tall grass in deep left field.

Arlington Greys 12 – St. Croix Base Ball Club 4
Sunday 10 August 2008
The Arlington Greys hosted the St. Croix Base Ball Club at the baseball field in Arlington on a bright sunny afternoon, perfect for base ball. The St. Croix team won the toss and elected to strike first. The Greys scored first with two aces in their half of the first inning. The Greys added four more aces in the bottom of the fourth inning making the score Arlington 6 and St. Croix 0. The St. Croix strikers made five consecutive hits after one hand was down in the fifth and scored three aces making the score Arlington 6 and St. Croix 3 after five innings. “Portsider” scored the fourth ace for St. Croix in their half of the sixth, and the Greys scored five aces with some timely hitting and a couple of St. Croix errors to make the score Arlington 11 and St. Croix 4 after six innings. Dave Kreft scored the final ace of the game in the eighth making the final score Arlington 12, St. Croix 4.
The highlights of the match for the Greys were doubles by Greg Splettstoeser and Pat Nienaber, three aces scored by Rob Brau, excellent fielding by the Greys producing two double plays, one ending the second inning and another ending the third, and daring base running.
