Please join us in honoring FRAN FERCH as she retires after 11 years with the Library. An OPEN HOUSE will be held at the Library on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We thank her for her years of dedicated service and wish her well in her retirement! Kick off for Be Creative at Your Library is Monday, June 8th and runs through August 21st. Sign up begins June 8th. Start working your way towards a free book and other cool treats and great prizes! June activities include:
Wednesday, June 17th – Tricky Troy of Half Pint Parties will be presenting a free program. Check out his magic, juggling and creative balloon animals!
Monday, June 22nd – Summer Solstice “Read Across Arlington”. The Library will be open extended hours (sunup to sundown). This means the library is open 5:31 a.m. to 9:06 p.m.! Free breakfast treats and beverages starting at sun up. Lunch at the Library 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a nominal fee. Sibley County Dairy Princesses will be serving treats in the afternoon. Special Guest readers from the community, make and take craft projects and activities all day long. It is a day of fun, fun, fun! If you would like to be a guest reader, please contact Director Kathy Homme to schedule a time that would be available for you.
Sign up now for the trip to the Old Log Theater to see Treasure Island on Tuesday, July 7th. $12.00 includes bus and performance. Depart at 10:00 a.m. and returns at 3:00 p.m. 50 tickets available. Pack your lunch and catch the bus! Enjoy your picnic lunch on the grounds at the Old Log before attending the 12:30 p.m. performance. ALL TICKETS FOR THE OLD LOG MUST BE PAID FOR BEFORE YOUR RESERVATION CAN BE CONFIRMED.

The Books Are Fun Sale wrapped upon May 13th. The Library staff and Board would like to say Thank You to all who purchased items which, in turn, benefited the Library.
A reminder, if you are in need of updating your resume or searching for a job you are welcome to use the computers at the Arlington Public Library to assist you. Library staff can provide you with information as to web sites that are useful for these purposes.
