GUIDELINES FOR USE OF THE COMMUNITY CENTER

DECORATING

  • We have permanent hooks over the 3 entrance doors, patio doors and long windows for you to hang lights, bows, tulle, etc.  We also have spring tension rods to use between the window frames.
  • We do NOT allow the use of tape (includes 2-sided with plastic hook), pins or tacks, tacky glue, or any other decorating device on any painted or varnished surface.  (Includes walls; wood trim around stage/windows/doors/trophy cases in hallway; or metal trim around doors/bathroom stalls)
  • We do NOT allow the use of tape, pins or tacks, clips, magnets or any other decorating device on the ceiling tiles, ceiling suspension grids, lights, vents, or any other ceiling fixture.
  • Clear Scotch Tape, Painter’s Tape or Black Electrical Tape (no duct/masking/packaging tape) may be used on the windowpane (but not on the window frame), the vinyl baseboard and the floor itself.
  • Tape (no duct/packaging tape) and/or tacks may be used on the black painted plywood stage floor only (not the varnished wood trim).
  • We do not allow any type of sand to be brought in.  (Includes sand-filled or pebble-filled bags to hold balloons)
  • Water fountains are permitted with the understanding renter must guarantee no leaks.
  • Candles are permitted, but must be in a container/holder and not put directly on the tables.

 

CLEANING OF RENTED ROOM(S) & TEAR DOWN OF TABLES/CHAIRS

You are responsible for the following:

  • Empty all garbage bags into the outside dumpster.
  • Sweep the floor(s) in the room(s) rented.
  • Wipe off ALL tables and chairs used.
  • Place all tables face-up on their respective racks and fold silver bracket leg in first. (Only if you are tearing down)
  • Hang chairs back on the rack so that you can see the bottom of the chair. (Only if you are tearing down)

 

CLEANING OF KITCHEN

If you rent the kitchen, please note the following:

  • Empty all garbage bags into the outside dumpster.
  • Sweep the floor.
  • Wipe off all countertops.  (Do NOT use dishtowels, rags & bucket in storeroom)
  • Completely drain the water from the dishwasher after use, empty refuses from both catch drains, and wipe unit down.
  • Ensure garbage disposal is run long enough to be able to cycle through all waste.
  • Clean out and wipe down all sinks.  (Do NOT use dishtowels)
  • Empty coffee maker & clean by running a cycle through without coffee grounds and completely drain after rinsing out.
  • Put all items back in their respective areas.
  • Do NOT remove towels from kitchen area, hang over sink to dry.

 

BAR RENTAL

After rental of a portable bar, please note the following:

  • Empty out ice and wipe out the sinks.
  • Wipe down portable bars, front and back.
  • Dump out all catch pails under the sinks.
  • Generally pickup the area around the bars for ease of floor cleaning.
  • If possible, push bars back to their original locations on the west end.
During the course of a long event, please monitor the catch pails under the sinks to avoid any water overflowing onto the floor and creating a safety hazard.
